Our Volunteers BAKE Good EATS!

Our youth volunteers take the CAKE when it comes to baking! We have some very creative cooks that helped provide the goodies for our Spring 2010 Open House.

Oreo cookies on popsicle sticks dipped in chocolate, crabby patties made with vanilla wafers, peppermint patties and frosting (yellow and red), and toasted marshmellow cupcakes were a few of the tempting treats our volunteers provided.

MS Walk April 17, 2010

Volunteers of all ages gathered to help put an end to MS. Volunteers helped with the registration process, MS Experience, rest stops, start and finish line and many other tasks during this half-day event.

Make a Child Smile Project

Youth volunteers from Saline County came together on February 11, 2010 to make cards for ill and terminally ill children. Youth volunteers read a profile on a specific child and then made a greeting card to send to the child to help brighten their day.

Valentine's 2010 Service Project

Youth Advisory Council members visited with St. Mary's Grade School Daisy Troop 20931 about their experiences as a youth volunteer. YAC members and Daisy Scouts made cards and flowers in flower pots to take to a local adult day services center for Valentines Day.

MLK Day Project 2010

The TVC Youth Advisory Council organized and participated in the removal of the Downtown Christmas Lights for this year's MLK Day Project. 25 volunteers participated in this project. Volunteers from Red Lobster joined the youth along with a couple of RSVP volunteers and parents.

MLK Day Project 2008!

Members of the Youth Council from the Volunteer Connection telling about Martin Luther King's legacy to 3rd graders at Coronado Elementary, January 22nd. They read them a book about his life and showed them a video of King's "I have a dream..." speech. Afterwards, the kids wrote their dreams for the community (world and local) down on a poster. The posters were later hung in the hallway of the school. The students really seemed to enjoy themselves and got to learn about civil rights in the process.
